Depth of Veteran Leadership with a Fresh Perspective
Balancing Scholastic Principles with Real World Opportunities
The team in The International Student Program has centuries of combined experience with the Canadian educational system. Langley is proud to be recognized as the second longest running International Student Program in BC (2019 marks the 30th Anniversary). The city was initially founded as Fort Langley, a trading post during the 1800’s for the Hudson’s Bay Company, and remains modest of its past successes. It is a gracious community with a pioneer spirit. Langley’s centuries-old legacy of Canadian tradition has built a foundation of trust and limitless possibilities. Recalling the adversity their forefathers overcame as settlers to British Columbia, the descendants of the pioneer citizens of Langley understand the challenges young newcomers face, and are eager to share the experience and tools for future success.
Multi-lingual Team, Multicultural Sensitivities
With dedicated Korean, Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin speaking) and Japanese coordinators on the Homestay staff, the Langley team has the communications and language expertise to welcome the world. Langley understands that different cultures and countries have distinctive end-goals to attend university here vs returning to their home country. Asian countries tend to focus mainly on academic performance while some European and South American countries tend to seek a balanced lifestyle with academic accomplishments.
Award-Winning Teachers
The Langley teaching faculty qualifies for the top five percent in Canada with a specialization in ESL (English Second Language) through training and certification.
