This year DW Poppy Secondary was one of the five high schools that had the privilege to host a group of grade 8 students from Thailand for one month. This group of Thai students are participating in a full schedule of classes at Poppy while enjoying their new experience of living in Canada. They’ve each been paired with a Canadian peer student much like the mentor group we have for the new international students for an easy transition to the school and a Canadian friend to practice their English with.
