DW Poppy Secondary was one of the five schools that hosted Thai students this year. In DW Poppy Secondary, their Thai students continued to deepen their Canadian experience at Poppy while learning about its rich culture of peoples and history. Auntie Helen from the Aboriginal Department came and taught these students how to bead some first nations style jewelry. They were also taken on an ice-skating field trip with their teachers.
Toward the end of their stay, the students held a going away event titled the Fantastic Thai Night, where they presented traditional foods, music and dance from Thailand. They were kind enough to leave us some thoughts on their whole experience with us here at Poppy. Thank you and so-long!
