Roughly 175 people of all ages visited Muriel Arnason Library on Tuesday, Feb. 17, to mark the Year of the Sheep.
The library attached to the Township Civic Facility hosted its seventh annual Chinese New Year event, with families and children decorating paper lanterns, coloring sheets, making lucky envelopes, and enjoying food and music.
Muriel Arnason Library was filled with people of all ages during the afternoon’s festivities.
“Everyone was very happy to participate in this multicultural event,” reported community librarian, Dr. Sarwan Singh Randhawa. “The library received excellent comments from the attendees.”
Randhawa noted that one of the newcomers to Canada said that she and her children were so happy to be at this celebration that it was hard to explain.
“What a nice welcome to Canada, we are feeling at our own home,” she said.
