The students and staff of Langley Fine Arts were lucky to have Alex Cuba, Cuban-Canadian singer/songwriter, as the 12th installation to the “Arts Matter” series on January 29th. The two-time Juno award winner recently released his latest album, Healer, in 2015. Those at LFAS were grateful to have him and to have learned from his unique musical perspective and ability to bring together two cultures through his songs.
He worked with students interested in music and in the afternoon they presented their collaboration school-wide. A second concert was held at night, open to the public where Cuba preformed with his band and later answered a few questions. This day won’t be soon forgotten, and neither will the influence he left on our school.
