Ko Ota of Japan is one of our international students studying at Aldergrove Community Secondary School. He joined the TOTEMS of ACSS in 2015 and has been one of the team’s star players, racking up several awards: selection to BC’s Best Eleven, TOTEMS’ Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player. He also captained the TOTEMS to the Provincial Championships twice, in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, the TOTEMS finished among the top 15 in BC.
This year, Ko joined Aldergrove United, a men’s premier soccer team. As the only international student in the Umbro Premier League this season, he helped Aldergrove United to its first League Cup time in 30 years.
Equally impressive, Ko was selected to play in the FVSL All-Star Game, in a league dominated by adults. Outstanding achievement!!!
