Congratulation to Emma Harrison and Tanner Wick from WGSS

Congratulations to Emma Harrison, Grade 12, and Tanner Wick, Grade 10, who
recently competed in the Canadian National Rowing Championships held at Elk Lake
on Vancouver Island. Normally, students of their age group do not compete in the
National Championships. However, Emma and Tanner were invited to participate by
Team BC with the opportunity for both of them to be selected to the BC Provincial
Rowing team based on their results. Both students did exceptionally well considering
the quality of the competition. Tanner finished in the top 50 overall in a race that was
ultimately won by a rower who happens to own an Olympic silver medal! Well done
and congratulations to both of them!
