Establishing a Strong Academic Foundation

Langley_Elementary_Programs_ClassThe Langley School District welcomes a limited number of international students to study in 15 of Langley’s 27 elementary schools (Kindergarten – Grade 7). Please note that the Langley School District requires children under the age of 13 years to reside with a parent.

Education and English-Language Training

Students are integrated into regular classes with Canadian students from the first day of school. Supportive and caring teachers provide instruction and guidance for students as they adjust to life in Canada. Students needing additional language support will work with a District International teacher as well as their classroom teacher. Students are tested upon arrival and given in-class language support. The amount of support is determined by the classroom teacher and the District International teacher based on a student’s needs.

Start Dates

The school year starts at the beginning of September and finishes at the end of June. The best time for students to begin their studies is in September, which is the start of the school year.  Students may also join in January, however spaces are limited.

Applications and Fees

Students applying to the Elementary Program undergo the same application process and pay the same fees as secondary school students.
